Barnett Administration

My name is Destini Martin and I have been the Principal at Barnett Elementary for the past six years. Before opening Barnett Elementary, I worked as the Principal at Kubacak Elementary for five years. I am a proud graduate of Santa Fe High School and have three children that attend school in SFISD. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and from University of Houston at Clear Lake with my Master’s in Educational Leadership.

It is very important to me that my staff and I build strong relationships with our students, parents, and each other. When our students walk through our doors, I want them to feel happy and loved. We have high expectations for our students and work hard to provide engaging lessons that connect with each child. Together, with the help of our supportive families, we will continue to strive to “Build the BEST at Barnett!

Hello! My name is Marissa Harrison, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Barnett Elementary. This is my fourth year in this role and my 12th year in education.

Before stepping into administration, I had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten and Second Grade Reading/Language Arts. I also served as a Literacy Instructional Coach, supporting teachers and students across the district.

I’m a proud graduate of Santa Fe High School. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Clear Lake and my Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

I have been married to my husband for 11 years, and we have a wonderful seven-year-old daughter who is also a proud Barnett Brave. I truly love this community, and I’m proud to help “Build the BEST at Barnett” every day!
